Refund Policy

We want you to be satisfied with ParetoThesis. Because our service consumes AI model resources upon generation (which incur real-time costs from third-party providers), refunds are handled according to the following policy.
1. Refund Eligibility
Full Refund — Eligible
- Technical failure: If the generation pipeline fails completely and you receive no output (e.g., server error, compilation crash), you are entitled to a full refund.
- Payment error: If you were charged multiple times for the same generation due to a payment processing error.
- Service unavailable: If the service was completely unavailable after payment and you could not generate any content within 24 hours.
Partial Refund — Case-by-Case
- Partial generation failure: If some sections generated successfully but others failed due to technical issues (e.g., API timeout on one section), we may offer a partial refund or a free regeneration of the failed sections.
- Significant quality issues: If the output is substantially below reasonable expectations (e.g., entirely off-topic, garbled text, repeated content), we will review on a case-by-case basis.
Not Eligible for Refund
- Subjective dissatisfaction: Refunds are not available because you disagree with the writing style, word choices, or academic quality of the AI-generated draft. Generated content is a starting point for human revision, not a finished paper.
- AI detection flags: While we employ anti-AI detection techniques, we cannot guarantee that output will pass all AI detection tools. Refunds are not available on this basis.
- User error: Incorrect model selection, entering an unintended topic, or accidentally closing the browser before downloading are not grounds for refund.
- Image generation: Due to the nature of image AI, generated figures are non-refundable once the image has been returned to your browser.
2. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email [email protected] with:
- Your PayPal or PayPal transaction ID or receipt email
- A brief description of the issue
- Screenshots if applicable (e.g., error messages)
We aim to respond to all refund requests within 48 hours.
3. Refund Processing
Approved refunds are processed through PayPal or PayPal (our payment processors). Refunds typically appear on your statement within 5-10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. Refunds are issued in the original payment currency.
4. Refund Window
Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the original transaction date. Requests submitted after this window will not be considered.
5. Abuse Prevention
We reserve the right to deny refund requests from users who repeatedly request refunds or appear to be abusing the refund policy to obtain free generations. Excessive refund requests may result in restricted access to the Service.
