Welcome to ParetoThesis ("Service", "we", "us"). By accessing or using https://paretothesis.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service Description

ParetoThesis is an AI-powered research drafting tool. It generates academic paper drafts, peer review reports, and associated deliverables (LaTeX, DOCX, PPTX) using third-party AI models accessed via the OpenRouter API. The Service is a drafting assistant and does not constitute academic advice, publication-ready material, or professional consulting.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using ParetoThesis, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

3. Use of Generated Content

All content generated by ParetoThesis is a draft. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, verifying, and ensuring the accuracy, originality, and ethical compliance of any output before submission or publication.
AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies, fabricated data, or placeholder information. You must verify all facts, citations, and data independently.
You retain ownership of the content you generate using the Service, subject to the limitations imposed by the underlying AI model providers.
ParetoThesis is not responsible for any academic misconduct, plagiarism claims, or institutional policy violations arising from your use of generated content.

4. Payments and Pricing

Pricing is displayed before each generation and depends on the AI model selected. Prices are calculated dynamically based on AI provider token rates with a 10x markup and a minimum floor of $10 USD (article) or $5 USD (peer review).
All payments are processed by PayPal (PayPal Holdings, Inc.). By making a payment, you also agree to PayPal's User Agreement. We may also offer payment via Paddle (Paddle.com Market Limited) as an alternative processor.
All prices are in USD. Local currency conversion and applicable taxes are handled by Paddle at checkout.
Payment is required before AI generation begins. You will not be charged again for the same generation session.

5. No Accounts, No Stored Personal Data

ParetoThesis does not require user registration. We do not store personal data, generated content, or session information on our servers beyond the duration of your active browser session. Payment records are maintained solely by Paddle.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service.
Submit content that is hateful, harassing, or promotes violence.
Resell or redistribute generated content as an automated service.
Abuse the API or attempt to circumvent payment mechanisms.

7. Intellectual Property

The ParetoThesis brand, logo, interface design, and underlying code are the intellectual property of the Service operator. The AI models used are provided by third-party vendors (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.) and are subject to their respective terms of use.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, PUBLICATION-READY, OR FREE FROM AI DETECTION. WE DO NOT WARRANT UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, PARETOTHESIS AND ITS OPERATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SPECIFIC GENERATION THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM.

10. Third-Party Services

ParetoThesis relies on third-party services including OpenRouter, OpenAlex, CrossRef, and Paddle. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or policies of these third-party services.

11. Modifications

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Morocco.
